#1 Watch Showcase - April Splits Gold
When new items are added to the collection I’d like to introduce them through Showcases. For this Showcase the theme is “April Splits Gold”.
Two gold wristwatches split in the middle by one big Split Second Chronograph Pocket Watch.
Silvana "Amez-Droz & Cie" Tank in 14k Yellow Gold
A watch that can compete with other Swiss brands for half the price or maybe even less. The first watches to bear the Silvana name were made by Victor-Eugène Bahon in 1898 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the cradle of Swiss watchmaking. The brand was officially registered in 1921 and quickly went on to success. They made some fine quality pieces until the 1950’s where bigger volumes where being produced at the cost of quality.
This watch features it all. Blued hands on a matching dial and high end finishing on the movement. A 14k Yellow Gold case, sturdily build with a slight curve to the design and has been made by “Amez-Droz & Cie., Boîtes de montres Zéma” (Poinçon de Maître No.1 (102)).
Lemania "Goliath" Split Second Chronograph Rattrapante Pocket Watch
A pocket chronograph mainly used in sports. Track, racing etc. With the Split Second function you where able to “split” your timing laps into different sectors. Giving you a more accurate reflection of performance. Used by officials or trainers.
The Goliath is a big pocket chronograph with lots of presence and easy legibility. Comes with it’s original “trainers” outer box with a strap to hang around the neck.
Record Chronograph Valjoux 23 "18k Step Case"
A dial design that is commonly seen on Record chronographs from the 1940’s with steel cases. A very utilitarian look. This watch however has an outstandingly elegant 18k yellow gold “Step Case”. The step refers to the bezel that isn’t flat or domed but features three steps. Combined with the dial with big sub dials an stick hands it’s elegance with a touch of sport.
The case has been professionally restored and undone from any dents without polishing and removing fine details. The case has been made by “Charles Kohli” (Poinçon de Maître No.1 (147)), known for his stepcase and hinged caseback.
