Croton Nivada Grenchen Aquamatic 360EL with a very nice tropical brown dial with radium breguet numerals. A thick and sharp stainless steel clam shell case in a very great condition. A very fine example preserved from the 1940’s.

A watch that is mostly overlooked by size and maybe even branding. Croton Nivada Grenchen is know in the watch collecting world but for the outer circle a forgotten brand. A brand that had a big focus on sturdy innovative watches in the 1940’s and up. Waterproof cases, automatic moments etc. Very reminiscent of Rolex in that era.

Now size, diameter alone tells absolutely nothing on a wrist watch. A single number that has way to much value in the watch world. This watch maybe be “only” 31mm but a fat steel case and the height of the clam shell design (the 4 screws in the lugs that “clamp” the caseback) it has proper wrist presence.
