Dunlop Tyre watch by Marvin
The Dunlop Tyre watch by Marvin from the 1940’s. A well preserved example on its original leather strap with minimal signs of use.
Something very unusual made extra unusual. We have to start with the Marvin Tyre watch. Made to be secured on the key ring of a car. This gave Marvin the opportunity to sell you a piece on the wrist AND on your keys.
The concept was then used in the 1940’s as a Dunlop promotional wristwatch. They added extra slots to fix a leather strap to the watch.
A very rare sight with an even rarer sight on it original strap. It’s the ultimate car related gimmick watch and maybe even the first. Making this watch even more desirable is the black gilt dial.
