International Watch Company (IWC) Cal. 89 "Probus Scafusia"
International Watch Company (IWC) Cal. 89 "Probus Scafusia" in a very great condition. A case looking sharp with signs of polishing. The movement and parts are all orginal and this dial is the icing on the cake. How the paint on this dial reflects light is outstanding and still in a near mint condition!
Produced in the 1960’s which is easily seen in the design of the watch. Compared to the previous decades you see a thinner case, wider dial with thin markers and hands with black inlays. Although the 1960’s are know for the start of real mass production of Swiss watches they did not lose the eye on quality at IWC. The Cal. 89 is still a piece of beauty, well engineered and made to last.
Oh and what’s “Probus Scafusia”? The crown features a small logo of a fish. IWC’s way of showing the better resistance to water in the 1960’s.
